Daniel was known in the unseen realm as the man who was highly esteemed by God. Wow. Highly esteemed. The above verse isn't the only time an angel gives Daniel this title. Earlier in this same chapter (verse 11) he calls Daniel that. And then in the previous chapter, Daniel 9:23, Daniel is called the same thing by the angel.
This is all really impressive, amazing, humbling to think that this is how angels and God refer to you, but the other really awesome thing you might not know is that there were years between chapters 9 and 10. So this means that Daniel stayed faithful. He just got closer and closer to God. He stayed faithful through so much.
As I read this this morning I wondered, how does God refer to me? How does He refer to you? I don't know. I don't know if I will ever know -- though when we get there God gives us all our own secret name just between Him and us. Check this out pasted from http://Biblegateway.com. It is Revelation 2:17:
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’
